Are you ready to make your mark at the heart of creativity, culture, and community? We’re looking for an inspiring and visionary Manager, Community & Culture at PAMA to lead a team that’s as passionate about the arts as you are. You’ll drive PAMA’s objectives, spark innovation, and build strong relationships to ensure PAMA’s growth, financial stability, and alignment with the Region of Peel's goals. This is a chance to not just manage, but shape the future of arts and culture in Peel.

Why PAMA?

At PAMA, we’re more than just a gallery, museum, and archives—we’re a vibrant community hub where creativity, history, and culture come together. If you're passionate about arts and culture and want to lead a team that's making a real difference, this is your chance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead with Purpose: Take the reins in developing and implementing PAMA's objectives, creating a roadmap for success that ensures the institution's growth and sustainability while staying aligned with the Region of Peel's vision. Your leadership will be a catalyst for progress.
  • Build & Strengthen Relationships: Work closely with external partners, including government agencies, donors, and community organizations, to amplify PAMA’s impact and strengthen our mission. Together, we’ll build a community that supports and celebrates the arts.
  • Champion Innovation & Improvement: Be the voice for arts and culture in the community! You’ll advocate for programs and initiatives that push boundaries while ensuring PAMA’s operations are both innovative and sustainable for the long term.
  • Foster a Culture of Excellence: Lead a dynamic team that thrives on collaboration, inclusivity, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Your team will be motivated, engaged, and united by the vision of creating a space where art meets community.

The Role at a Glance:

As the Manager of PAMA, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and an understanding of heritage building operations, artistic direction, exhibitions, collections, and programming
  • Managing and mentoring a talented team of staff, volunteers, and Advisory board while collaborating with other departments on community engagement, marketing, fundraising, and advocacy
  • Cultivating partnerships with key participants to enhance PAMA’s mission and financial stability
  • Ensuring all operations align with our long-term goals and vision for sustainability

This is your opportunity to lead a beloved cultural institution, bring fresh ideas to life, and create lasting connections that support arts and culture for generations to come.

What We’re Looking For:

We need a forward-thinking leader who understands the power of art to unite, inspire, and reflect the diversity of our community. You’ll bring a visionary approach to PAMA—someone who celebrates the intersection of culture, creativity, and inclusivity, making sure everyone sees themselves represented through the arts.

If you’re someone who can:

  • Drive strategic planning and oversee budgets that keep PAMA thriving
  • Guide and inspire a dedicated team of professionals, while creating meaningful internal and external partnerships
  • Be the advocate for arts and culture that tell stories of Peel region and beyond ensuring sustainability, inclusion and relevance in our community
  • Be the voice of PAMA on the Advisory board

…then we want you to be part of our future!

Are you ready to lead with purpose and make an impact? Join us at PAMA and be part of a team that’s shaping the future of the arts in Peel! 🌟

What we are looking for:

  • Have a Masters Degree in Cultural or Arts Management, Museum Studies or a related field
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience including at least 5 years in a senior managerial level in an arts, heritage or cultural facility
  • Experience working with Advisory Boards & Committees
  • Knowledge of heritage buildings and legislation affecting cultural institution service provision.
  • Flexibility around hours. Weekend and some statutory holidays may be required.
