Advisor, Analytics - Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies

Corporate Services- Information Management 

Status: Regular Full Time

Salary Range: $100,172-$125,213 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton 

Hours of work: 35 hours per week

In this role, you will propel the Region forward by integrating artificial intelligence and advanced analytics across a diverse range of programs and services aimed at helping people thrive in a rapidly growing community. The Advisor, Analytics is responsible for leading advanced analytic projects, combining technical expertise and creativity to deliver innovative, AI-driven insights. You will support Advanced Analytics and AI initiatives, enterprise-wide projects, and ongoing operational planning by leveraging emerging technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI.

 

What does success look like?

  • AI and Machine Learning Integration:
    • Design, build, and deploy predictive models and AI-driven solutions that address key organizational challenges, ensuring scalability, repeatability, and accuracy.
    • Leverage cutting-edge technologies, including generative AI, neural networks, and advanced machine learning algorithms, to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiencies.
  • Data Analytics Leadership:
    • Develop innovative computational methods, mathematical models, and statistical analyses to drive actionable insights from structured and unstructured data.
    • Lead data mining initiatives to discover patterns, trends, and opportunities within complex datasets.
  • Emerging Technology Applications:
    • Integrate automation, robotics, and AI-based natural language processing (NLP) to streamline operations and enhance user experiences.
    • Apply generative AI techniques to simulate scenarios, improve program planning, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Visualization and Communication:
    • Create sophisticated data visualizations and interactive dashboards using advanced web graphic tools and data visualization platforms to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders and decision-makers.
    • Simplify complex analytical results for diverse audiences, emphasizing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Strategic Guidance:
    • Provide expert consultation on emerging analytics techniques and AI tools to influence policies and strategic initiatives.
    • Continuously monitor industry trends, particularly in AI and emerging technologies, to guide innovation and inform best practices at the departmental and corporate levels.

 What we are looking for: 

  • Educational Background:
    • Master’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline with 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Advanced proficiency in AI tools and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI APIs, or similar platforms).
    • Skilled in programming languages such as Python, R, and Java, with experience in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Azure).
    • Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics techniques such as NLP, deep learning, generative AI, and reinforcement learning.
  • Analytics and Visualization:
    • Proficiency in statistical packages (e.g., SPSS, STATA) and data visualization tools (e.g.Power BI).
    • Experience designing custom visualizations to represent complex datasets and insights.
  • AI Strategy and Innovation:
    • Demonstrated ability to apply AI and emerging technologies to real-world challenges, including intelligent process automation and predictive analytics.
    • Proven track record of leading innovative projects involving adaptive algorithms, pattern recognition, and behavior modeling.
  • Professional Qualities:
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to address loosely defined business challenges.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering collaboration across departments and teams.
    • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging AI technologies and methodologies.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.

 

It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
