Senior Business Analyst, Digital Services Team

Corporate Services- IT Solutions 

 

Status: (1) Contract Full Time – Up to 18 months

Salary Range: $92,153 -$115,189 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Work mode: Hybrid* see below for more details about this work mode. 

Location:10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton 

Hours of work: 35 hours per week 

 

 

Join the Digital Services Team as a Senior Business Analyst and play a key role in driving technology innovation to improve service delivery for employees and residents. Collaborating closely with Public Works, you will help shape strategic outcomes by translating complex business needs into actionable IT solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an integrator and technical specialist, partnering with IT Project Managers, Business Partners, and clients.
  • Define and manage project requirements, ensuring solutions deliver maximum value.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Capture and track business cases, benefits, and requirements through interviews, workshops, and prototypes.
  • Assess proposed solutions to ensure they meet stakeholder needs and optimize service delivery.

 

Administrative work:

  • Design visual content i.e. work flow diagrams to simplify and communicate business concepts, project phases, and solutions.
  • Document and analyze business processes, IT needs, and resource structures to drive informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate the creation of comprehensive scopes of work for vendor procurement.
  • Gather and model data to visualize and analyze complex project information.
  • Capture, design, and document data flows and business processes for efficient execution.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate degree in business management, finance, math, statistics, accounting, information management systems or related fields with at least 5 years of work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation in good standing with the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) is required
  • Working knowledge of the waterfall and agile project and program management lifecycles and of their commonly used methods, processes and practices
  • Knowledge of the TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Framework is advantageous 
  • Highly proficient in MS Office, PowerPoint and Excel (able to build pivot tables and complex formulas and use the data analysis module)
  • Advanced experience working with business sponsors and other stakeholders to document requirements

 

Nice to have:

  • Organizational Change Management certification or an equivalent designation
  • Lean and or Six Sigma certification (Greenbelt) or equivalent designation 
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITIL)

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve.
