Supervisor, Design and Production  

Corporate Services- Communications 

Status: Regular Full Time/Contract Full Time/ Temporary Full Time (no guaranteed hours) 

Salary Range: $103,177-$128,969 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

As the Design and Production Supervisor, you’ll lead a dynamic team of Graphic Designers and Production Specialists, bringing bold ideas to life and shaping the way the community engages with Peel Region programs and services.

 

Your Impact:

  • Strategic Leadership – Develop and execute long-term creative strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring innovative and impactful visual communication.
  • Creative Direction & Execution – Oversee high-quality design solutions across print and digital media, managing production workflows and vendor partnerships to bring creative projects to life.
  • Collaboration & Consultation – Act as a trusted advisor to internal teams, ensuring brand consistency, problem-solving challenges, and enhancing engagement with diverse audiences.
  • Crisis Communication Expert – Lead critical design initiatives during major events or emergencies, ensuring clear, effective, and timely messaging.
  • Performance & Growth – Mentor and inspire your team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning while driving efficiency and quality in all projects.
  • Process Innovation – Identify opportunities for improvement, optimize workflows, and implement best practices that enhance creative output and resource management.

What You Bring:

  • Education & Experience: University or college degree/diploma in graphic design with 5–8 years of experience as a senior designer, supervisor, or art director.
  • Sound knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians Disability Act (AODA): Experience creating, implementing, and enforcing legislated accessibility standards in design products.
  • Leadership & Team Building: A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in graphic design, with a proven ability to motivate, engage, and influence others.
  • Creative & Strategic Expertise: Deep understanding of design principles, integrated communication strategies, and visual storytelling to drive impact and influence change.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat Pro,photography composition and retouching, with solid experience in Mac OS, Word, Excel, Outlook, and FileMaker.
  • Digital Asset Creation & Management: Skilled in designing high-quality digital assets, including graphics, UI elements, marketing materials, and multimedia content. Comfortable working in HTML/JavaScript as well as CMS systems such as Drupal.
  • Print & Digital Production: Thorough knowledge of design systems, print production processes and web design principles, ensuring seamless execution across multiple platforms.
  • Project & Process Management: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills, with expertise in outsourcing, vendor management, and workflow optimization.
  • Communication & Mentorship: Exceptional coaching, mentoring, and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team and foster a high-performing creative environment.

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.

 

It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
