Regular Full-Time Opportunity

Health Services – Long Term Care

Salary Range:  $69,805-87,225  per annum plus comprehensive benefits
Work mode: on site - Peel Manor -  525 Main Street North, Brampton

The Long-Term Care Division requires staff to provide person-centered care to our residents and families following the Butterfly Model of Care. This will ensure high levels of emotional wellbeing and a better quality of life for those living in our homes. Staff are to have emotional intelligence ability to deliver person-centered care in an authentic way that is meaningful to the resident and their family.

 While you won't be providing direct resident care, you will play an integral role in providing daily administrative support to the Administrator in carrying out their day-to-day business, projects and planning activities

What you will do in this role:

Reporting to the Administrator this challenging, fast paced position will

  • Work closely with the Administrator to support communication and correspondence to ensure the smooth flow of information
  • Coordinate and resolve internal/external enquiries pertaining to Long Term Care Home issues
  • Coordinate and track responses to requests for data and information from a variety of sources including Finance, Human Resources, Ministry of Long Term Care and Ontario Health
  • Keep abreast of current issues related to high level work of the home, identify action items and ensure appropriate follow up
  • Liaise independently with internal and external contacts on behalf of the Administrator to coordinate meetings
  • Organize and maintain the Administrator’s schedule
  • Provide program support to Long Term Care Home Initiatives i.e., committees, peer groups, continuous improvement initiatives, training or onboarding, including scheduling, preparing agendas, recording minutes and identifying action items and ensuring appropriate follow up
  • Supports special project and coordinate special events, meeting logistics, conferences 
  • Prepare miscellaneous correspondence and other documents
  • Prepare and distributes high level agendas and minutes
  • Prepare slides, spreadsheets, speaking notes when requested by the administrator
  • Conduct research to keep abreast of current issues related to LTC Division to identify and initiate actionable items and ensure appropriate follow ups are made and accurate timelines are met

 

What the role requires 

  • Successful completion of a Post-Secondary Administrative or Business Studies Program
  • Three (3) years progressive Administrative Support experience
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered
  • Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; as well as online platforms such as Microsoft Teams and/or Zoom
  • Experience with event planning
  • Intermediate Peoplesoft Skills

Nice to have:  

  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment with various Collective Agreements is preferred
