Job Description

Technical Analyst, Condition Assessment 

Public Works – Water & Wastewater

Status: 2 Regular Full-time Positions
Salary Range:
$78,336 - $97,920 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: 3515 Wolfedale Road, Mississauga

Hours of work: 35 hours/week


What you will do in this role: 

Reporting to the Supervisor of Wastewater Collection, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Perform condition assessment analysis of main line sewer, including trunks and siphons for inclusion in State of Good Repair (SOGR) Program
  • All defects found which results in a sanitary repair or replacement will be analyzed and included in the spot repair and replacement scope list along with all supporting documentation which includes maps, pictures, description of defect and description of repair needed. Escalate critical issues to Operations immediately for resolution
  • Ensure completion of inspection of all Watermain, Roads Capital lists, Special request CCTV from Capital Projects, Development, Operations and the CCTV PM Program on mainline sewers to meet customer deadlines
  • Completion of the lateral inspection program for inflow / infiltration analysis
  • Perform CCTV inspections using CCTV software to capture defect data. This includes ensuring the database in the truck is up to date and informing GIS of any discrepancies in the data
  • Follows up with all data transfers and ensures the CMMS/ GIS is accurate and up to date with infrastructure changes (spot repairs, lining, capital projects, etc.)
  • Ensure PM maintenance for truck and camera equipment is followed
  • Perform daily maintenance on camera equipment and inform of any defects

What the role requires:

  • Successful completion of a degree / diploma in Environmental Science, Engineering or CET
  • NASSCO’s Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP ™), or Manhole Assessment Certification Program (MACP ™) required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in inspection and assessment of wastewater infrastructure and operational or construction experience in Wastewater Collection Systems; Combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Training in Confined Space, Book 7 – Traffic Control, familiar with Region of Peel’s health and safety requirements for outside work
  • Class G Drivers license in good standing 

Skills/Abilities:

  • Specialized knowledge in construction methodology, costing, budget preparation and sewer design
  • Specialized knowledge of CCTV equipment, reporting and operational practices, and trenchless technology
