Performance Measurement Specialist

Information Management Division

 

Status: (1) Regular Full Time 

Salary Range: $92,153 - $115,189 plus comprehensive benefits

Location: 10 Peel Center Drive, Brampton, ON 

Hours of work: 35 hours per week 

 

Reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence, this role partners with internal teams across the Corporate Services department to lead, support, and elevate performance measurement and reporting initiatives. You’ll guide complex projects and act as a trusted advisor on departmental planning, analytics, and data visualization, empowering leaders with actionable business intelligence.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead major performance measurement projects and advise on smaller initiatives across teams.
  • Provide expert guidance to staff and leadership on performance metrics, analysis, and reporting.
  • Design and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and data visualizations that turn insights into action.
  • Facilitate performance measurement processes in support of strategic and business planning.
  • Analyze complex data sets—both quantitative and qualitative—to deliver impactful business intelligence.
  • Build departmental capacity through coaching, tools, and best practices.
  • Drive consistency in performance reporting across business units.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to departmental priorities.
  • Stay ahead of trends in BI, performance management, and data visualization to keep our practices cutting-edge.

What You Bring:

  • Deep experience with performance measurement, strategic planning, and business analytics.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to create compelling dashboards and visualizations that support decision-making.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to building a performance-driven culture.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of public sector trends in Ontario and Canada.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent experience and 5 years of experience with project management, change management, analysis and interpretation, facilitation, client relationship management and consultation. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Familiarity with Data visualization and dashboard tools. Strong expertise in the use of PowerBI preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of current thinking and practices related to performance measurement and reporting within the public sector in Ontario.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to provide expert advice to support strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be able to work with senior and executive leadership, other professionals, other levels of government, other departments, staff and stakeholders.
  • Excellent facilitation skills with sound knowledge of various facilitation techniques.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to encourage others to seek and act upon opportunities for different and innovative approaches to problems and changing client need.
  • Customer-centered philosophy and approach.
  • Strong numeracy and statistical analysis skills.
  • Ability to organize, evaluate, analyze and present information effectively and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Proficiency in all MS office applications. (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

Nice to have:

  • Certification or Training in change management.
  • Basic programming skills.

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve.
