Advisor, Senior Services Culture and Wellbeing 

Health Services- Health Services Response & Wellness 

Status: Contract Full Time; 18 month duration

Salary Range: $103,177-$128,969 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Work Mode: Hybrid*see below for more details about this work mode. 

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton; travel to Peel's 5 Long Term Care homes required. 

Hours of work: 35 hours per week 

 

Bring Heart to Leadership: Supporting Culture, Wellness, and Emotion-Based Care

 

Reporting to the Director of Health Services Response and Wellness and working in close collaboration with the Directors of Long Term Care and Senior Services Development, this role is dedicated to nurturing a supportive, emotionally attuned work environment. You'll play a key role in advancing a culture rooted in compassion, engagement, and psychological safety, in alignment with the values of emotion-based care and the Psychological Health and Safety Standard.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead with Care: Champion initiatives that foster employee engagement and well-being. Collaborate with the Dementia Care Manager and leadership teams to ensure programs align with our person-centered, emotion-based approach to care.

  • Foster Connection: Build bridges across Health Services to identify opportunities for collaboration that promote a strong, inclusive, and psychologically healthy workplace culture.

  • Empower Others: Provide thoughtful, strategic guidance and mentorship to teams implementing culture and engagement programs. Be a trusted advisor in moments of transformation and growth.

  • Support with Sensitivity: Coach leaders through change, offering support on strategies that uplift teams during transitions. Handle sensitive employee matters with discretion, empathy, and in partnership with HR and leadership teams.

  • Enhance the Employee Experience: Evaluate current practices and recommend compassionate, effective improvements to support a thriving workplace culture.

  • Normalize Mental Health Support: Promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage participation in psychological wellness programs, helping all staff feel seen, supported, and valued.

What the role requires: 

  • Relevant post-secondary education
  • 5 years’ experience in an advisory capacity
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities to work with an executive leadership team to advise, influence and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Vulnerable Sector Check and TB Test 
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Expert knowledge in applying change management methodologies 
  • Demonstrated experience in applying, modifying, and developing change management approaches for large scale changes
  • Awareness of emotion-based care models and the associated impacts on people living with dementia
  • Experience with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project life cycle (PMP and/or PMI would be considered an asset)
  • Ability to think and plan strategically with an ability to manage conflicting demands, urgent tasks, and changing priorities
  • Ability to analyze various forms of data, synthesize information to anticipate future trends/consequences and create innovative and flexible plans
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills (involving multi-stakeholder interests)
  • Knowledge of leadership/management/organizational development, assessment protocols, change management strategies and processes
  • Proven ability to provide guidance and direction within a matrix environment
  • Ability to communicate and display a high level of professionalism in-person, verbally and written formats 
  • Advanced ability to deliver and adjust communications according to audience (i.e., senior staff, public, stakeholders etc.)
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.

 

It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
