Job Description

Project Manager, Human Services
Human Services- Social Development, Planning and Partnerships 
Regular Full Time 

Salary Range: $103,177 to $128,969 per annum; plus comprehensive benefits and vacation
Work mode: Hybrid; Minimum of 2 days on-site per week which can increase based on operational needs. 
Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton ON 
Hours of work: 35 Hours per week

Reports to: Manager, Project Management and Business Transformation

 

What you will do in this role:

  • Responsible for the all work undertaken as part of Human Services project(s) including visioning, research, consultation, analysis, recommendations and implementation.

  • Responsible to lead medium- large projects to meet departmental needs and priorities.

  • Develop and maintain all key project documents and correspondence including the Project Charter, Work Breakdown Structure, Change Management Plan, Communication Strategy, Project Workplan, project status reports etc.
  • Responsible for progressing the project work through all project phases (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling and close-out
  • Plan and support change management plans and tactics to support the implementation of project deliverables
  • Provide regular reporting to the Manager, Project Sponsor, Steering Committee, and other stakeholders as appropriate
  • Complete work in support of the Strategic Plan and departmental/divisional priorities
  • Collaborate with employees, clients, community partners and key stakeholders to ensure the that the services provided in the department continue to meet the needs of Peel
  • Develops presentation materials and facilitates various sessions to gather information for the project or to inform others of project information

What the role requires:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business/Public Administration or Human Services related field
  • 5 years’ experience in the Human Services sector or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 year of direct experience leading medium to large project(s)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience applying project management methodologies
  • Experience in applying change management principles and methodologies and the demonstrated ability to lead as well as manage and support change

Preferred Assets:

  • Experience leading the implementation of a performance measurement program across an organization, department or division – including creating and implementing routine data collection, data cleaning, analysis and reporting processes and tools
  • PMP Designation is considered a strong asset
  • Knowledge of community resources/services available to residents of the Region of Peel

Work Mode & Job Location:

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.

 

It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
