Program Support Analyst

Public Works – Planning and Development Services

Status: Contract Full-time (13 months)
Salary Range:
$92,153 - $115,189 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton

Hours of work: 35 hours/week


What you will do in this role: 

  • Leads the development of data models to support development application analysis and support corporate projects
  • Manages and evaluates the reporting of data processes and procedures to ensure high quality analysis and research
  • Manages the maintenance of information systems, databases and development applications for monitoring, research and reporting of development activity
  • Responds to data and information requests in an accurate and appropriate manner for the target audience
  • Ensures policies, protocols and procedures related to divisional programs and databases are documented
  • Provide strategic advice and in-depth analysis to support divisional priorities, emerging issues, and ongoing program performance
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in GIS infrastructure including Azure, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, and Power BI. and develop tools that align with evolving operational needs
  • Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to staff and interns; act as a divisional technical lead on data management and information systems
  • Manage and continuously evolve databases and KPI-tracking tools used across the division to monitor productivity and streamline service delivery
  • Develop dashboards and analytical tools that proactively address divisional data needs using ArcGIS Pro, Power BI, and Excel to support policy, process, and operational improvements
  • Interpret complex legislative, operational, and policy materials to support strategic planning and business transformation
  • Create technical reports and presentations for Council, divisional leadership, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Represent the division in cross-departmental working groups and external partnerships to support integrated planning outcomes

What the role requires:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Land Use Planning, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science/Management/Analytics or a related field
  • Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation and/or  is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP) would be considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation including the Planning Act, Municipal Act, and Safe Drinking Water Act
  • Proven ability to assess research and analytics to develop evidence-informed program and project recommendations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and GIS software platforms
  • Knowledge of the planning and design of information technology architecture, database design, GIS, data management standards, records management, and analytic modelling and research

  • Analytical, organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to analyze data to determine methods/approaches to improve consistency of data and quality control
  • Ability to read and interpret databases and data structures
  • Ability to think strategically, communicate technical language at all levels, organize and coordination projects, prepare written policies, procedures and protocols, work independently, deal with deadlines and coordinate staff to achieve goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated leadership in project coordination, system integration, and operational strategy
  • Sound judgment and ability to influence decisions at the strategic and operational level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to various audiences
  • Proven ability to foster collaborative relationships across departments and with senior management
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands with attention to deadlines and deliverables.
  • Skilled in conducting staff training, interpreting legislation, and advising on technical systems and planning processes
  • Demonstrated ability to support change management and organizational transformation efforts

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.

 

It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
