About the Role

The Supervisor, Population Health Assessment plays a critical role in shaping that story by leading a talented team of health analysts and student placements. Together, you’ll transform data into meaningful insights that guide decisions, shape programs, and improve the well-being of Peel residents.
This role combines technical expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics, and survey methods with compassionate leadership. You’ll mentor and support your team, foster collaboration across departments, and ensure our work reflects Peel’s commitment to health equity and community impact.
What You’ll Do
Lead, recruit, orient, and mentor staff and student placements, creating a supportive and growth-focused team environment.
Oversee the acquisition, cleaning, and analysis of population health data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Translate complex health data into clear, actionable insights through reports, dashboards, and the Public Health Data Website.
Provide expert consultation on epidemiology and biostatistics to support program evaluation, policy development, and outbreak investigations.
Collaborate with internal partners and external stakeholders to share data in meaningful ways that inform decisions and strengthen community health outcomes.
Develop innovative approaches to data collection, reporting, and dissemination that prioritize transparency and accessibility.
Lead special projects, literature reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to advance population health assessment methods.
Manage budgets, project timelines, and workforce development activities, ensuring alignment with the Ontario Public Health Standards.
Represent Peel on departmental, regional, and provincial committees, contributing your expertise to broader public health initiatives.

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
