The Opportunity

This is a pivotal moment for Peel—one that calls for a visionary, system-level leader who can shape the future of seniors care through innovation, integration, and compassion.

As General Manager, Seniors Services, you will provide executive leadership and strategic direction for the Region’s long-term care homes, adult day services, and seniors programs—ensuring high-quality, person-centred, and compliant care.

Beyond operations, this role will influence the future of the sector by advancing upstream, community-oriented, and prevention-focused strategies that strengthen independence, wellbeing, and quality of life for older adults. You will play a key role in system transformation, working across health, community, and social sectors to position Peel as a trusted and collaborative partner in integrated seniors care.

You will lead through values, drive change with purpose, and inspire a culture of excellence and inclusion that empowers people to deliver compassionate care every day.

What You’ll Do

This is a defining time for seniors care in Peel—a moment to lead boldly, think systemically, and shape the future of aging through compassion, innovation, and integration.

As General Manager, you will:

  • Lead with purpose and vision, setting the strategic direction for seniors services that delivers person-centred, high-quality care rooted in dignity and respect.
  • Drive transformation and modernization, aligning services, people, and systems to meet the evolving needs of an aging population.
  • Champion integration and collaboration, forging strong partnerships across health, social, and community sectors to build seamless care experiences.
  • Empower and engage a values-driven workforce, fostering a culture of trust, inclusion, and continuous learning.
  • Advance innovation and sustainability, leading major capital and digital initiatives that strengthen quality of life for residents and caregivers.
  • Advocate for seniors and their caregivers, representing Peel at provincial and sector tables to influence policy and system-wide change.

As General Manager, You Will Bring

  • A post-secondary degree in Health Administration, Nursing, Social Sciences, or Business (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in long-term care, seniors services, or health system integration across multiple sites.
  • A systems thinking with the ability to translate Peel’s Health Services North Star into actionable strategies that drive upstream prevention and integrated care for older adults.
  • Demonstrated leadership through health system emergencies and operational pressures, balancing immediate demands with long-term sustainability and transformation.
  • Proven experience leading multi-site operations and system-level integration within seniors services, long-term care, or health systems.
  • Deep understanding of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and related compliance frameworks.
  • Strength in change management, organizational culture development, and workforce engagement.
  • The ability to build and nurture authentic relationships with residents, caregivers, and community partners—grounded in equity, inclusion, and shared purpose.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, using storytelling and evidence to inspire confidence among political leaders, staff, and partners.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, ensuring effective stewardship of resources in a complex, evolving system.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, inspire high-performing teams, and foster inclusion and psychological safety.
  • Political and organizational awareness to navigate complex systems and drive results in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and person-centered care for residents, families, and staff.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team that leads with heart, grounded in service, innovation, and community — building a healthier, more connected future for everyone who calls Peel home.

Here’s why you’ll love working with us:

  • A supportive, hybrid work environment that promotes flexibility, wellness, and balance

  • Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision benefits, including psychological health coverage, effective on your first day

  • Automatic enrolment in the OMERS pension plan for long-term financial security

  • Five weeks of vacation accrued annually, plus three paid personal days and floating holidays

  • Flexible hours and wellness support designed to help you thrive

  • Annual performance review and merit-based recognition for excellence and impact

  • Access to tuition reimbursement and continuous learning resources to grow your leadership and skills

  • Supportive leadership and an inclusive culture where you’re valued, respected, and empowered to lead with purpose

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.
