Corporate Services – Office of Culture and Inclusion: PAMA

 

Status: (3) Casual Educator positions, (2) Temporary Part Time positions

Hourly Range:  $31.11 per hour

Work Mode: Hybrid

Location: 9 Wellington Street East, Brampton & various locations across Peel Region for outreach work at schools and community groups

Hours of Work:

For Casual staff - up to 15 hours per week, Monday to Sunday 9:00AM - 5:00PM. Availability on Weekends is required, No guarantee of weekly hours.  

For Part Time staff - 25hrs per week Monday to Sunday 9:00AM - 5:00PM. Availability on Weekends is required.

Our buildings are our largest artifacts. The site is made of historic buildings: the Peel County Courthouse and Jail, the former Registry Office, and the Modernist Building.

 

What you will do in this role:

In this role you will be reporting to the Supervisor of Community Engagement, and working closely with the Education team, Peel Art Gallery, Museum & Archives (PAMA). As a PAMA Educator you will prepare and deliver a wide range of art and museum-based programs and activities to children, youth, adults and seniors that participate in PAMA's school and public programs.

 

What the role requires:

  • Completion of a post-secondary program in art education, museum studies, history, visual and/or media arts related discipline, or a combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience working with children, seniors, or those with special needs would be an asset
  • Experience in developing lesson and activity plans and a demonstrated interest in working with participants of all ages and backgrounds
  • Demonstration of solid knowledge and a keen interest in contemporary visual art and community engagement
  • Familiarity with a broad range of art techniques, practices, materials and Canadian History
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Outlook
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check - Please note: Successful candidates hired to work within The Region of Peel’s PAMA are required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Check. It is the responsibility of the successful candidate to pay for any associated costs of the following check

  • An ability to be flexible and adapt instructional practices to diverse audiences
