2026 Social Services Summer Student Program (Human Services)

Program Length: May 4, 2026 - August 28, 2026

Salary Range: $25.42/hour

Work Mode: Onsite and Hybrid work modes (vary based on position)

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive & 7120 Hurontario Street

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Work Term & Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly wage

Key Dates (Approximate):

  • January 30, 2026: Job posting closes
  • February 2026: Screening and interviews (returning students are exempt from interviews) 
  • March/April 2026: Offers and onboarding packages sent via email 
  • May 4, 2026: Start date
  • August 28, 2026: End date

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing excellent customer service and front-line support
  • Assisting with administrative duties such as data entry, records management, and documentation processing and scheduling appointments
  • Organizing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Maintaining office supplies and coordinating service requests
  • Supporting staff with file transfers, records retention, and compliance with policies
  • Responding to client inquires and supporting with resources and system navigation
  • Assisting with coordination of activities or events
  • Assisting with data collection and research research analysis and reporting writing
  • Providing supports to case management teams and assessment teams 
  • Assisting on projects or program evaluations
  • Supporting workshops or training sessions

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a full-time post-secondary education, with enrollment in a Social Services or related program, and planning to return to or begin full-time studies in September 2026
  • A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted) 
  • Related work or volunteering experience is an asset
  • Available to work from May 4 to August 28, 2026
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities

Work Mode & Job Location: Work arrangements may be onsite or hybrid, depending on business needs. The frequency of onsite work is determined by operational requirements, with a minimum of two days per week on-site expected. For hybrid roles, your work location must be within Ontario.
