Status: Contract Full Time; Contract Duration 24 Months
Salary Range: Non Union, Salary Band G; $81,977 per annum to $102,471 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits and vacation accrual)
Hiring Range: $81,977 per annum to $92,224 per annum
Work Mode: Hybrid; 3 Onsite days per week which can increase based on operational needs* see below for more details about this work mode.
Location: 3515 Wolfedale Road, Mississauga and daily travel to various sites with Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon
Hours of work: 35 hours/week; On call rotation every 7 weeks acting as Duty Spills Coordinator and assisting in the annual update of the Public Works Emergency Plan

Who we are: In support of the Water and Wastewater Division achieving its vision of Clean Water for Life, this position will participate in the development of the division and lead the implementation of key strategic priorities as well as oversee daily operations of the water and wastewater plants, water distribution and wastewater collection systems and protection of the infrastructure and environment through the administration and enforcement of various bylaws while aligning emerging business needs with long term strategic resource needs.
What you will do in this role:
At Peel Region pollution control is a critical aspect of our commitment to environmental stewardship and public health. We employ advanced technologies and stringent regulations to ensure strict quality standards, ensuring the well-being of our communities now and in the future.
Under the supervision of the Pollution Control Supervisor, you will oversee the implementation and enforcement of the Wastewater Bylaw.
Conducting inspections of industrial facilities across Peel Region to verify compliance with the bylaw, ensuring environmental compliance, and safeguarding wastewater treatment facilities.
Maintaining the safety and security of Peel's residents, industries, and the natural environment. Additionally, review lab analyses of industrial discharges and determine appropriate enforcement actions.
Review industrial sewer charge appeals, sanitary discharge approvals and administer the surcharge and compliance agreements

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of three days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve.
