Technical Analyst, Wastewater Collection & Conveyance

Public Works – Water & Wastewater

Status: Contract Full-time (10-Month Term)

Hiring Range: $81,977 - $92,224 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton

Hours of work: 35 hours/week


Overview:

The Technical Analyst will provide technical support in Capital Works and Wastewater Infrastructure; managing capital development and operations for Regional wastewater collection, pumping, storage and generation facilities.

 

What you will do in this role:

 

  • Reviews, comments, and provides approvals for external Public Utility Coordination (PUCC) and 3rd party applications.
  • Coordinates and audits the Capital Projects Database, ensuring the database is up to date with accurate project information.  
  • Coordinates specific project activities for Project Managers and Manager.
  • Meets with external vendors, consultants and contractors to ensure conformance with Regional standards and quality control on capital projects or operational matters.
  • Provides operational support for both Region and OCWA facilities for project operational impacts. Undertakes computations and analyses as required.
  • Manages customer inquiries and customer relations.
  • Ensures quality and schedule compliance for capital projects. Prepares and produces reports to capital staff as required.
  • Develops capital and operational budgets as required.
  • Provides technical assistance for the design of linear assets or facilities with consultants and Regional staff.
  • Liaises with Region Operations to discuss capital projects and operational impacts. Plans and coordinates service interruptions. Develops and implements contingency plans as required.
  • Performs design and contract administration services on capital projects up to $0.5M in value.
  • As requested, participates in the deficiency inspection of all capital-related works and liaises with the Contractor and all sub-contractors to ensure completion of deficient work.
  • Provides ongoing technical support to Regional staff in responding to infrastructure issues and concerns.
  • Investigates complaints and ensures that the safety and best interest of the general public is considered at all times during construction projects. Maintains good relations with various contractors and the general public.

 

What this role requires:

 

  • Certified Engineering Technologist or Engineering Technician designation with at least 3 years of experience in the design, construction or operation of water/wastewater infrastructure or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have a valid drivers license and daily use of reliable vehicle
  • Miscellaneous Training:
    • Confined Space
    • Working at heights

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.

 

It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
