Job Description

Change Management Lead (Advisor Change Management)

Contract Duration: Approximately twenty four (24) months

Corporate Services - Corporate Strategy Office

 

Are you a change management professional who thrives on developing and implementing change management plans to ensure that the people side of change is managed successfully? 

 

We are looking for an experienced change management practitioner who can create and implement change management strategies to help ready stakeholders for implementing and sustaining the people, process and/or technology change that stems from transformational projects.

 

The role...

 

The Change Management Lead will be responsible for the development and execution of change management strategies, plans and tactics for enterprise-wide projects. An example of such projects,  is the Region’s Create a Modernized Workplace Term of Council Priority.  This exciting project aims to advance the Region’s work environment so that staff can fully achieve the outcomes defined in our strategic plan. 

 

Key components of this project include:

 

a) Redesigning our physical office workspaces including both individual and collaborative work areas. 

b) Updating our HR policies and practices to better support flexible working options. 

c) Shifting our corporate culture, including the introduction and reinforcement of refreshed Regional Values. 

d) Partnering with leads from our IT department in the delivery of enabling technologies, such as expanded WiFi coverage and remote collaboration tools.

 

You will be accountable for....

 

  • Working closely with executive leadership and cross departmental project teams to develop, plan and execute change management activities that help employees at all levels be properly equipped to initiate and sustain the changes that stem from transformational projects
  • Gathering, assessing, and interpreting complex information in order to assess organizational impact and organizational readiness for the change as well as develop and integrate comprehensive change management activities into project plans
  • Conducting and coordinating the activities required in the change management plan, including stakeholder engagement, communication, training, knowledge transfer and various forms of learning and education
  • Overseeing, monitoring, and measuring the execution and effectiveness of change management efforts through data gathering and measurement in order to provide analysis on their effectiveness for executive management and project team consideration
  • Proactively identify risks to successful change adoption and work collaboratively to develop and implement appropriate responses 
  • Providing advice and support to the project team on advancing project outcomes and support executive leadership in their role as change champions
  • Partnering with key organizational change management experts including Human Resources and Marketing and Communications to ensure alignment with Regional change management processes, roles and organizational communications and standards
  • Ensuring continuity and integration of change management approaches across other significant transformational projects to ensure realization of value

 

Qualifications: 

  • Relevant post-secondary education combined with a minimum of 5 years’ experience applying, modifying and developing change management approaches for large scale projects 
  • Professional Change Management Certification is required (i.e. CCMP, Prosci, etc.) 
  • Demonstrated skill in applying project management methodologies; at least 3 years’ experience leading projects; certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is an asset 
  • Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment 
  • Expert knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and change processes 
  • Demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically as well as manage conflicting demands, urgent tasks, and changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze various forms of data, synthesize information to anticipate future trends/consequences and create innovative and flexible plans
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to work with an executive leadership to provide change management advice
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and display a high level of professionalism in-person, verbally and written formats
  • Advanced ability to negotiate and engage in sensitive communications internal to the organization and with external stakeholders
  • Advanced ability to deliver and adjust communications according to audience (i.e. senior staff, public, stakeholders etc.)

  

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton 

Hours of work: 35 hours/week – Monday through Friday
