Senior Developer - Salesforce

The role...........

The senior developer brings expert (SFDC) development experience to the development team ensuring that the delivered application on platform meets effectively and efficiently the information and process automation requirements of the client. In a matrix organization, this position reports indirectly to the Supervisor, Software Development and Support, SalesForce Architects, and respective scrum masters.

The Senior Developer is responsible for the prompt resolution of complex problems in the technical environment and for mentoring Developers on technical matters.

  • Function as (SFDC) Solutions Analyst, responsible for translating requirements into overall functional design including all SFDC components, integration specifications and reporting
  • Design and develop Salesforce objects, fields, page layouts, record types, triggers validation rules, user profiles, Sharing rules, security, etc.
  • Perform configuration & release management using deployment tools.
  • Work with other SMEs to develop VisualForce pages, Apex classes, and Apex batch jobs
  • Administer key AppExchange products
  • Perform bulk data loads and lead ETL activities and load data to Salesforce.
  • Identify and develop reports and dashboards
  • Perform configuration and administration, including definition and implementation of Org-wide defaults, Roles, User Profiles, Record Ownership rules, Sharing Rules, etc.
  • Design and manage ongoing development of to meet the organization’s mission
  • Interface with business users and technical staff and be responsible for delivering complete work products
  • Analyze business needs and design, configure and deliver solutions
  • Monitors new Salesforce features and functionality and makes recommendations to Supervisor in order to enhance the Region’s development program 
  • Prepares recommendations to the Scrum Master on technical aspects optimize salesforce functionalities and improve business processes and assists in analyzing SFDC plug-ins and add-ons
  • Mentors Developers on complex technical solutions and/or escalated matters
  • Provides development estimates to the Scrum Master for the development/enhancement of complex system components or vendor applications
  • Works with clients and project team to confirm detailed architecture for complex solutions, including external design (navigation, screens, reports) and internal design (software and hardware platform, connectivity, modules, back-end and front-end components)
  • Partners with project teams to design and develop software solutions in support of business requirements and provides guidance to Developers when needed
  • Provides input and/or develops test, conversion, implementation, and contingency plans and enforces the CRM Change Management Process
  • Delivers effective and efficient solutions by meeting best practice of Agile methodologies
  • Prepares documentation including backup and recovery procedures, technical documentation
  • Implements high quality system components into the production environment
  • Designs shared components for use across all development teams
  • Performs maintenance and enhancements to existing systems and ongoing Salesforce administration 
  • Performs all duties in accordance with IT standards and procedures and works strictly within our governance model to ensure continued functionality and overall SDFC platform health



  • University or college graduate in computer science or related discipline with minimum 5 years application development experience including not less than 3 years of SDFC development experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Formal certifications like, Certified Administrator, Certified Advanced Administrator, Certified Platform Developer, etc. are preferable
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience in the architecture of platform. (e.g. governor limits, security, Objects, record types, workflows, triggers, etc.)
  • Must have strong understanding and knowledge of SFDC programming languages (Apex, VisualForce, etc.)
  • Worked with Salesforce deployment tools e.g. ANT, change sets etc.
  • Experience with development in a multi-tiered release environment, including hands-on configuration and release management experience, are strong requirements
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a geographically distributed team
  • Must be a confident, self-starter individual who can completely “own” the delivery of high value work products
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, practical problem solving abilities, ability to proactively identify opportunities and quickly implement solutions
  • Driven to continual improvement of processes and working environment
  • Able to handle fluctuating workloads, conflicting priorities and concurrent activities
  • Strong team player with excellent customer service skills along with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence, quality and client communication


Contract Duration: up to 13 months

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton,

Hours of work: 35 hours/week; Monday to Friday. * Flexibility required to working evenings, weekends, statutory holidays and on-call rotation.
