The role…..

 

 

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is an advisor to senior and executive leadership focused on strategic human resources (HR) initiatives for a client department. The HRBP provides strategic consulting level support, planning and guidance and is responsible for understanding the client business, assisting in the prioritization and execution of HR initiatives, and ensuring alignment with the overall business and HR strategy.

 

The HRBP is a key conduit between the client department and HR to communicate decisions, priorities and relevant information to the appropriate level regarding business needs. The HRBP provides consultation to the client leadership team on strategic organizational development and change management and strives to understand client's priorities and engage other members of the overall human resources team to provide comprehensive client focused human resources and workforce planning solutions. 

 

 

Areas of Primary Focus:  Talent Management, Change Management, Workforce/Succession Planning, Workforce Analytics

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or other related discipline and/or combined equivalent experience.
  • At least eight (8) years of progressive experience working in a large, complex environment providing support to senior and executive leadership on strategic HR initiatives including workforce planning, change management, succession planning, organizational behaviour, employee engagement and leadership development.
  • Strong communication, influence and relationship building skills and an ability to communicate effectively, including verbal, written, strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated practical experience managing HR projects and/or programs, the ability to motivate teams, and drive execution to the achievement of the right results.
  • Strong organizational skills, business and political acumen, encompassing the ability to apply a broader corporate perspective.
  • Strong learning agility, consulting orientation, client insight, strategic influencing and partnering skills.
  • Demonstrated experience driving organizational/transformational change initiatives, developing workforce plans, and influencing business managers.
  • Demonstrated success working in a highly collaborative and team based environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including but not limited to Pay Equity Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.

 

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week; Monday-Friday
