The Region of Peel is looking for a Manager, Marketing & Digital Communications who will provide leadership, recommendations and advice to internal and external partners ensuring that the Region's marketing and digital communications strategic outcomes are achieved.

The Role...

 

The Manager, Marketing & Digital Communications will lead a team of communication professionals who are responsible for planning, designing and producing the Region's strategic marketing efforts and brand strategy.  The Manager is also responsible to lead the design, development, maintenance and content management of the Region's internet and intranet sites, social media and video/multimedia production to ensure that Brand and Digital Strategy objectives and outcomes are achieved.  The Manager will demonstrate strong leadership behaviours and competencies to coach, mentor and develop a strategic communications team. 

 

You will be accountable for...

 

  • Providing leadership to a team of professionals that are responsible for strategic and operational planning and implementation of the Region’s marketing and digital communications strategies, including the Brand Strategy and creative design elements of communication materials
  • Managing marketing and digital communications strategies that create public awareness of the Region’s programs and services and helps drive behavioural change
  • Leading the effort to raise awareness of the Region’s brand online and ensuring multi-channel strategies are aligned with the Brand Strategy
  • Providing strategic advice and guidance for marketing and digital communications across the organization to help ensure that information is findable, useable, mobile-enabled, accessible and useful
  • Establishing and overseeing overall content management of the Region's internet and intranet sites, social media and video / multimedia production, including adherence to legislative requirements (e.g. Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) and Regional brand standards
  • Developing an integrated and holistic approach to plan, develop and deliver effective digital communications solutions and optimize the use of digital media
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders to promote and market the Region’s programs and services and brand
  • Working collaboratively with internal partners and stakeholders to align digital communication priorities and tasks with the Region's Digital Strategy and outcome
  • Appling systems thinking and insight of the organization to enhance the Region's brand, reduce risk, identify solutions and ensure alignment between marketing and digital communications objectives and business outcomes
  • Monitoring and measuring marketing efforts and how well digital information and services meets internal and external stakeholders' needs, including analyzing data and analytics and identifying opportunities for improvement and actions to implement

 

 

What we are looking for...

 

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations and/or specialization in Digital Media, Digital Strategy and Communications, Digital Marketing or related discipline with at least 7 years progressively responsible experience in digital communications, digital media, communications, marketing, public relations or an equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Proven experience in leading a team of communications professionals that have demonstrated achieving service outcomes
  • Understanding of change management principles and practices and demonstrated through the implementation of change with your team and clients
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and developing a successful team 
  • Solid problem solver who is able to analyse a problem, apply creative and innovative thinking to find a solution
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners at various levels of an organization to achieve outcomes

  • Excellent knowledge of website development and management and experience working with content management systems
  • Excellent understanding of the strategic use of social media platforms
  • Excellent understanding of how graphic design, content and digital technology work together to produce engaging and clear content that results in effective communication and service experience
  • Excellent knowledge of digital, social media and multimedia communication strategies and proven ability to execute strategies to achieve outcomes
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing concepts, theories, strategies, best practices and emerging trends
  • Sound knowledge of behavioural insights and change management principles that impact marketing strategies and digital communications
  • Experience leading marketing campaigns that resulted successful outcomes
  • Sound understanding of how architecture, usability, and other design and development principles (i.e. graphic design, copy, audio, and/or video) are integrated to develop effective digital solutions
  • Sound knowledge of how to set up and post content on internet and intranet sites and social media; prepare and upload text and images to a content management system; format using HTML/CSS for the web; manipulate and optimize images/video for the web and social platforms
  • Sound knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and content management systems and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to complete long and short term strategic planning and resource management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with social media and digital applications and sound understanding of constantly evolving user needs and expectations
  • Experience in brand management is an asset

 

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton ON 

Hours of work: – 35 hours/week
