    Job Description

    Senior Infrastructure Analyst

    Digital & Information Services - Information, Systems and Technology Services  

    Contract Duration - Thirteen (13) Months

    Reporting to the Supervisor, Infrastructure Projects you will be responsible for installing, supporting, maintaining and upgrading the Region's technology infrastructure in order to meet the functional needs of regional business

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Act as a technical lead for medium to large projects to upgrade existing technology infrastructure or research and implement new technology infrastructure solutions.
    • Participate in the design, documentation and deployment of all technology infrastructure components; as well as vulnerability patching, OS maintenance and daily operational infrastructure tasks
    • Provide administration and tuning for operating systems, Active Directory, Office 365, iOS, SCCM, IIS, Storage Area Network, VMware Hypervisor, Avaya Telephony Infrastructure and the Brocade network infrastructure
    • Provide third level technical support to Infrastructure Operations in resolving technology infrastructure incidents and problems
    • Monitor and respond to all infrastructure alerts during business hours and participate in providing 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis
    • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Section and/or the Division.

     
    Qualifications:

    • University or college graduate in computer science or related discipline with minimum 5 years’ experience in an similar technology infrastructure environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience with Microsoft Windows 2008/2012/2016, Linux 7.x, ESXi 6.x, Avaya Communication Manager 6/7 and Citrix (StoreFront, XenApp, XenDesktop)
    • Working knowledge of networking systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, VoIP, DSL, TCP/IP, 802.1x, OSPF, STP, RSTP, VRRP, etc.
    • Experience installing, configuring and supporting network switches, routers and other network devices
    • Familiarity with CLI management of network devices (Brocade/Cisco CLI experience an asset),
    • Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Familiarity with HP SAN administration and configuration a definite asset
    • Aware of best practices in Information Technology service delivery such as SDLC, PMBOK, COBIT and ITIL
    • Demonstrated attention to detail, keen analytical and technical skills
    • Strong problem solving abilities
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team
    • Able to travel to various Regional locations
    • Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, on-call rotation and/or shift work
    • Lifting of equipment routinely required

    Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton

    Hours of Work: 35 hours per week/ Monday to Friday
