    Job Description

    ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT/RECEPTIONIST (Part-Time)
    Health Services – Long Term Care

    Location: 7075 Rexwood Road (Malton Village - LTC)
     

    Reporting to the Supervisor, Business Services you will provide courteous and helpful assistance to all internal residents/staff members/volunteers and external visitors. 

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Administrative support which includes but is not limited to filing, faxing, photocopying and typing
    • Greet and direct visitors appropriately
    • Direct incoming calls in a timely manner and operate a paging system as needed
    • Monitor the lobby to ensure resident safety and respond to emergency situations in accordance with the Centre’s policies and procedures
    • Responsible for monetary transactions which may include payment receipts and  collecting cash for meal tickets
    • Maintain organization and confidentiality of documents (may include filing, archiving and/or shredding documents)
    • Special projects as assigned (may require additional work hours)
    • Scheduling of staff for all departments as required
    • Provide coverage for vacation/illness, etc as required

     

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent along with skills in basic accounting
    • Minimum of one year customer service experience in a health care environment
    • Effective oral and written communication skills in English
    • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to act appropriately in situations requiring compassion, tact, diplomacy and confidentiality
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to work with minimal direction and as part of a team
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general accounting software applications such as Point Click Care 

     

    Compensation: Band 2 - As per Non-Union Salary Structure 

    Hours of Work: Will share the following shifts with other PT Staff: Monday through Friday 4:30pm-8:00pm and Saturday, Sunday and Statutory Holidays 8:30am-8:00pm.
