    Job Description

    Peel Manor LTC is looking for a Potwasher that has previous experience working in a Commercial Kitchen that brings passion and care to the work they do so why not choose a rewarding career with The Region of Peel's Long Term Care?

    We have a variety of different work shifts that are appealing to those looking for part-time work or balancing between another part-time job.  

     

    Monday to Friday shifts:

    • 8:30 am - 2:30 pm
    • 3:00 pm - 7:30 pm

    AND...

     

    Availability required every other weekend 

    • 11:00 am - 7:00 pm

    Potwasher (Part-time)
    Health Services – Long Term Care

    Reporting to the Dietary Supervisor (or designate) you will be responsible for all janitorial and pot washing duties in the Dietary Department.


    Responsibilities:

    • Washing, scouring and sanitizing all pots, pans and utensils
    • Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, including compartment steamers, steam jacketed kettles, mixers, convection ovens, roast ovens, deep fat fryers, stove tops, grills, racks, slicing machines, refrigerators and mobile carts
    • Performs janitorial duties in the kitchen including spot cleaning of walls and mopping of areas as required, as well as disposing of garbage
    • Maintain good relationships with the residents, staff, volunteers and visitors
    • Accepts and follows through on directions from the Cook in the performance of job duties in the absence of the Dietary Services Supervisor
    • Follows policies and procedures as outlined in the Centre’s manuals
    • Potwasher responsibilities as per job description

     

    Qualifications:

     

    • Grade 10 or equivalent education is required
    • Previous food service experience is preferred
    • Food Service Worker Certificate is preferred
    • Must have effective oral and written communication skills in English
    • Must be able to communicate appropriately with residents, staff, volunteers and visitors
    • Must be physically able to perform all delegated duties.

     

    Compensation: As per the Collective Agreement (Cupe Local 966)

    Location: 525 Main St. N., Brampton (Peel Manor LTC)
    Hours of work: No guarantee of hours. Various shifts - Must be available days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
