    Advisor, Creative Integrated Design

    Corporate Services- Marketing & Communications 

    Contract Duration - 13 months 


    Reporting to the Manager of Marketing and Digital Communications, the Advisor, Creative Integrated Design will be responsible for the development and implementation of creative and compelling visual strategies.  Working in collaboration with the Digital Marketing, Creative and Communications teams this role is also responsible for the conceptualization and production of multi-channel design solutions across digital, social, mobile, email, print, and video in accordance with corporate visual identity standards.


    Major Responsibilities:

    • Lead development and implementation of the Region’s Masterbrand Strategy, including collaborating with Marketing & Communications teams, and key internal partners and stakeholders (e.g. Culture & Inclusion Team, Marketing & Communications Leadership Team, Executive Leadership Team)
    • Work with analytics, digital communications, creative, external communications teams and service groups to mine research, develop insights and build strategic and compelling integrated visual strategies and campaigns that ladder up to overarching marketing and communications strategies
    • Develop and implement enhanced brand guidelines and style sheets for the Region of Peel and its stakeholder organizations Work collaboratively with Marketing & Communications teams, ensure that all forms of visual communications and messages are carefully linked together to communicate a clear, consistent and compelling brand message
    • Work with the Marketing & Communications Leadership Team and other internal partners to coordinate consistency of visual identity standards across different media channels including digital, social, email, mobile, video and print
    • Serve as a branding subject matter expert and provide advice and guidance to internal partners, Commissioners and Directors to ensure initiatives and plans are aligned with the Brand Strategy
    • Inspire and motivate partner groups to be creatively progressive through the application of fresh and inventive creative work 
    • Provide advice, guidance and team mentorship for public and employee engagements and communications to ensure plans are aligned with brand objectives and outcomes
    • Keeps apprised of branding and marketing trends, Peel community trends and issues, and employee engagement trends and issues that may impact the Brand Strategy, develops proactive plans and actions as appropriate
    • Collaborate with designers, production team, copywriters, communications leads (traditional, digital and social) and service groups



    • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Creative Advertising, Art Design in Media, Graphic Design or other related discipline with at least 5 (five) years of related experience developing and implementing interactive design projects or an equivalent combination of education/experience
    • Excellent knowledge of digital content creation distribution and syndication, social media, web and email trends and best practices
    • Strong understanding of latest creative trends, evolving online platforms and design software
    • Demonstrated high level of creativity, ability to think outside the box, and willingness to adapt ideas to the needs of the organization
    • High level of analytical skills to be able synthesize information from various sources and develop creative plans and actions
    • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to act both strategically and tactically; willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
    • Excellent understanding of human behaviour and experience in effectively identifying and analyzing target audiences and developing plans and actions that engage, motivate and inform audiences
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and effectively with various staff levels, including Commissioners and Directors and to develop plans and actions and achieve measureable outcomes in a timely manner
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills to be able to convey, elicit, and synthesize creative ideas and messages to and from various audiences into effective creative strategies
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to be able to manage multiple priorities and tasks with minimal supervision
    • A passion for commercial art, visual details and accuracy
    • Strong knowledge of, and practical experience with, WCAG 2.0 Level AA guidelines
    • Strong knowledge of typography, photography and image manipulation, illustration, animation and web design
    • Public sector experience is an asset

    Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30pm 35 hours/week
    Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton
