    Infrastructure Analyst 

    Digital & Information Services - Information, Systems and Technology Services  

    Contract Duration - Approximately 13 months

    We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who promotes collaboration, teamwork and meeting client and business objectives.  

     

    The role:

     

    Reporting to the Supervisor, Infrastructure Services you will be responsible for installing, supporting, maintaining and upgrading the Region's technology infrastructure in order to meet the functional needs of regional business

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsibilities include: build and configure all infrastructure components to documented standards and seek approval for quality assurance prior to deployment
    • Repair, install, patch, maintain and decommission infrastructure technologies
    • Provide administration and tuning for operating systems, Active Directory, Office 365, iOS, SCCM, IIS, Storage Area Network, VMware, Avaya telephone system, network and device management products
    • Configure and install new servers for application development and production environment
    • Participate in projects to test and implement changes/enhancements to the technology infrastructure
    • Monitor and respond to all alerts to ensure existing technology infrastructure meets requirements for stability, reliability, capacity and performance Maintain technical documentation
    • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Section and/or the Division.

    Qualifications:

    • University or college graduate in computer science or related discipline with minimum 3 years’ experience in an similar technology infrastructure environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience with Microsoft Windows 2012 and 2016 , Linux, VMware
    • Working knowledge of networking systems, protocols, cloud technologies (Azure, AWS) and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, VoIP, DSL, TCP/IP, 802.1x, OSPF, STP, RSTP, VRRP, etc.
    • Experience installing, configuring and supporting network switches, routers and other network devices
    • Familiar with CLI management of network devices (Brocade/Cisco CLI experience an asset),
    • Familiar with HP SAN administration and configuration a definite asset
    • Aware of best practices in Information Technology service delivery such as SDLC, PMBOK, COBIT and ITIL
    • Demonstrated attention to detail
    • Practical problem solving abilities
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Able to handle fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team
    • Able to travel to various regional locations
    • Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, on-call rotation and/or shift work
    • Lifting of equipment routinely required.

    Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton

    Hours of work: 35 hours/week; Monday to Friday.
